28 Sep Card Pay drives over £8,500 in donations for Hospitality Action

On Monday, 25^th September, 2017, The AA Hospitality Awards took place in The Grosvenor House Hotel in London, to celebrate the achievements of the shining stars of the hospitality industry. It was an amazing event, with the brightest and best of the hospitality industry winning awards for their continued hard work and service.

Card Pay were delighted to be involved in the evening, not only as a main sponsor, but also as Hospitality Action’s partner for the evening, charged with the task of helping raise crucial funds for this worthy charity.

Together with Hospitality Action, it was decided that there would be a car draw, with one lucky winner walking away with a new Volkswagen Polo on the night.

In order to enter the car draw, attendees were invited to donate money to the charity by tapping their contactless debit/credit card on one of the 100 high speed, Wi-Fi card machines that had been set up on every table.

Once a donation was completed attendees wrote their name, number and business name on the back of the receipt which was then placed in the hat, with the winner chosen at the end of the evening.

The total raised was £8565.46, an incredible amount of money which will help Hospitality Action continue to support members of the hospitality sector who have fallen on tough times.
